Meet Henry: A Future Criminal Justice Professional

Henry, a Clarke alum, will be pursuing a criminal justice degree through the Dual Admissions Program of SUNY Adirondack and the University at Albany.

Diagnosed with profound hearing loss, Henry benefited from Clarke’s Mainstream Services, which helped him acquire vital skills to ensure success in the classroom beyond.

Henry credits much of his self-advocacy skills to his Clarke teacher of the deaf, saying, “She helped me understand more about my hearing loss and how it impacts my education.”

As he embarks on his college journey, Henry is eager to make new friends who understand him and eventually live independently in a dorm.

A fan of crime shows and books, Henry is excited to blend his interests with his studies as a criminal justice major, aspiring to turn this passion into a fulfilling career.

As a 2024 recipient of the Caroline A. Yale Memorial Fund Scholarship, Henry plans to further his education and embrace the full college experience.
