Meet Marco: An Aspiring Engineer Ready to Shape the Future
Marco, a proud Clarke Florida alum, is preparing to begin his next chapter at the University of Florida, where he’ll join the engineering program with ambition and purpose. As a 2025 recipient of the Caroline A. Yale Memorial Fund Scholarship, Marco is transforming his hard work and determination into a future full of possibilities.
Born with profound hearing loss, Marco received cochlear implants at a young age. He worked closely with Clarke’s dedicated team to overcome early communication challenges, including years of speech therapy. These early experiences didn’t deter him—they fueled his drive. Marco embraces any challenge as an opportunity to build resilience that continues to shape his academic and personal journey.
“I’ve always pushed myself because I know what I’m capable of,” Marco shares.
That drive now propels him toward a career in mechanical engineering—a field he describes as both dynamic and essential. For Marco, engineering is more than just a career path; it’s a way to solve real-world problems and improve lives. Whether working in robotics, fluid mechanics, or sustainable systems, he aims to create technology that expands access to critical resources and inspires innovation.
“Mechanical engineering is a jack of all trades,” he says. “It’s versatile, and it challenges me to grow. I want to push technology to the limit and help shape a better world.”
Marco plans to use funds from the Caroline A. Yale Memorial Fund Scholarship to support his academic studies.
With passion, perseverance and a powerful vision for the future, Marco is ready to make his mark—not just in engineering, but on the world.
