Shane is profoundly deaf and learned to listen and talk at Clarke Philadelphia. His mom honored the anniversary of the day her son’s hearing technology was activated by noting: “We have celebrated every sound, word and phrase and are thankful every day! This would not be possible if it wasn’t for our Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia team, and of course our Clarke village.”

Meet Sofia, a Clarke Philadelphia alum from 2010, who is currently pursuing a Liberal Arts Degree from Smith College. Sofia was born with hearing loss in Guatemala and adopted by her current family in the United States.
