Ayla Makes Progress in Clarke’s Birth to Age Three Program

Meet Ayla, a fashionista who recently added a new accessory to her everyday look, a cochlear implant! Ayla was born with single-sided deafness. Her first hearing screen occurred at six days old while in the NICU and after repeat testing, a profound hearing loss was confirmed in her right ear.

Ayla began receiving services through Clarke’s Early Intervention program when she was two months old. Within this birth to age 3 program, families partner with Clarke experts to learn strategies to support language development through play, speech and listening activities.

Since attending Clarke, Ayla’s speech and communication skills have been outstanding! Ayla’s mother attributes her daughter’s success to Clarke, and notes “Clarke has been incredible throughout this entire journey. Ayla was able to say more than 20 words before her first birthday!”
