Addyson

Our Stories

Addyson started attending Clarke Philadelphia’s Preschool Program when she was three. Today, she is exceling at her neighborhood elementary school. Her mom says, “To think, when Addyson entered Clarke she was only babbling and you could only understand a few words. Without Clarke, Addyson wouldn’t be the amazing kid she is today! Clarke isn’t JUST a preschool. Clarke and it’s amazing team are a constant resource even after your child graduates. They teach parents how to advocate for your child and they provide much needed resources and support for the entire family. Addyson is in the top of her class and loves to read. She is so social and loves gymnastics. We owe so much of this to Clarke!”

Anna’s hearing loss came on suddenly, and her family did not have a history or experience with hearing loss. Anna’s family attributes her success to support from her Clarke teacher of the deaf. Today, Anna’s family reports that she is thriving with school and home activities including dance, basketball, horseback riding and swimming.

Addyson is the only student in her school district with cochlear implants, and she’s excelling at more than gymnastics. She’s a straight-A, second-grade student who is reading at a fourth-grade level. Her favorite subject is math.
