Clarke is proud to honor Dr. Janice Gatty, EdM, MED, EdD, Director of Child & Family Services, for 50 years of extraordinary service, leadership and dedication.
Dr. Gatty joined Clarke in 1974 and has spent the past five decades shaping generations of families, professionals, and students through her deep commitment to Clarke’s mission of teaching children who are deaf or hard of hearing to listen and talk. As a trusted colleague, mentor and friend, Dr. Gatty has made an enduring impact on the Clarke community.
Under Dr. Gatty’s leadership, Clarke’s Teleservices Program has grown into the largest of its kind in the United States. Clarke’s Birth to Age Three Program model is now recognized globally as a standard for excellence in early support for children who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Dr. Gatty holds master’s degrees in early childhood education and education of the deaf, as well as a doctorate in human development. Throughout her career, she has remained steadfast in her dedication to supporting families, preparing future educators and advancing the field of early intervention.
Clarke is honored to celebrate this remarkable 50-year milestone and extends heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Gatty for her lifelong contributions to the Clarke community and the field of deaf education.
