Clarke's K-8 Program Moves to New Locations

Clarke’s K-8 Program for students who are deaf or hard of hearing will soon be re-locating from Leeds Elementary to specialized classrooms at the Clarke Schools for Hearing and Speech flagship site on Round Hill Road in Northampton, MA, and Hampshire Regional High School in Westhampton, MA.

With their lease approaching its end and our student population expanding, the Clarke program will make this transition in advance of fall 2020.

Kindergarten through sixth grade classes will be relocated to Clarke Schools for Hearing and Speech on Round Hill Road in Northampton, MA (where the Clarke Hearing Center is also located), and seventh and eighth grade classes will be held in the middle school building at Hampshire Regional High School in Westhampton, MA.

Clarke K-8 students will continue to be Clarke students and receive all services from Clarke. They will continue to be taught by masters-level teachers of the deaf; receive speech and language therapy; and have access to audiological support all from Clarke.

In terms of in-person classroom access in the fall, all Clarke programming will of course be following the direction of state and local authorities to ensure the safety of the Clarke community, and families will be updated at every step along the way.

Clarke has enjoyed an enriching and valuable partnership with the Leeds Elementary School since 2012, and we are grateful for the supportive space they have provided to our K-8 Program. As our unique “school within a school” program continues to evolve, we remain committed to our mission—providing children who are deaf or hard of hearing with challenging academics, self-advocacy training, individualized attention and celebrating their milestones along the way.
