Each in-person meet-up in Northampton, MA and Canton, MA, presents a new theme.
Students who attended Clarke Buddies February meet-up in Northampton, MA, participated in a book drive and made bookmarks that were donated to More Than Words, a youth development program that empowers young adults in Greater Boston. A noteworthy 150 books were collected by students who were eager to give back to their community.
“By the end of the day, you could see the joy in students’ faces as they stood next to a long table covered in books with bright bookmarks sticking out of each one,” explains Emily Snow, Co-Leader of Clarke Buddies. “When students come together with a common mission, amazing things happen!”
Clarke Buddies has hosted a variety of other drives including collecting winter clothing for those affected by Hurricane Maria; collecting cans to support the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts; creating valentines for Shriner’s Hospital in Springfield, MA; and donating care packages for families at Child, Adolescent and Family Services in Florence, MA.
