Throughout the month, Clarke will promote friendship by sharing books, songs and best practices that can help strengthen social and emotional learning. Follow along on social media with the hashtag #KindVibesOnly.
Friendships enable children to learn more about themselves and develop their own identity. According to “Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students’ Perspectives on Bullying and School Climate,” published by the National Institute of Health, students who are deaf or hard of hearing are two to three times more likely to be bullied than their peers. With this elevated risk, Clarke is committed to providing a safe and inclusive space for students.
