First Annual Clarke Runs on Dunkin 5K Event receives media attention

Source:

In recognition of Audiology Awareness Month, Clarke Schools for Hearing and Speech in Canton welcomed media and community members on October 19, 2025, for its first-ever Clarke Runs on Dunkin’ 5K Run and Walk. The fundraiser highlighted Clarke’s life-changing work supporting children who are deaf or hard of hearing in developing listening and spoken language skills.

The family-friendly event brought together hundreds of participants for a timed 5K, a Costume Munchkin March for children, and a celebratory finish with Dunkin’ coffee and donuts. Clarke preschool student August and his parents were featured by WHDH in a compelling human-interest story, while Clarke staff and alums shared personal experiences, giving reporters a firsthand look at Clarke’s impact on children and families.

Clarke thanks the WHDH news team for helping amplify awareness of childhood hearing loss, which affects an estimated 2–3 out of every 1,000 children born in the United States.
