On Saturday, May 18, more than 1,185 friends explored the Philadelphia Zoo and raised over $170,000. The event was made possible by the incredible assistance of many sponsors, fundraisers, in-kind donors, volunteers and supporters that include current families, staff and alumni.

Thank you to Rachel Brook Photography for generously capturing our event! Professional quality prints can be purchased here.

If you’re moved to further support the services Clarke provides, it’s not too late to donate here.

Clarke’s Listening Walk events are uniquely designed to show the public that children who are deaf or hard of hearing can listen and talk. These signature events, presented by Clarke Schools for Hearing and Speech, raise awareness and support for Clarke and help ensure that more children and families have access to listening and spoken language therapy and education. This event begins with an exciting 5K Run throughout the Zoo followed by the listening scavenger hunt.

Unlike other walk fundraisers, Clarke’s Listening Walks are centered around a self-paced Listening Scavenger hunt. Children who are deaf or hard of hearing, and their friends and siblings, are encouraged to use their listening skills to discover new sounds, like the honk of a flamingo or the squeak of a bat, as they seek out the Listening Stops located throughout the Zoo.

Don't miss out on any of our Listening Walk communications!
