Muhammad

Our Stories
Muhammad has a bilateral hearing loss and began working with Clarke as a preschooler. In addition to his classroom experience, Muhammad’s family reinforced listening and spoken language learning at home with storytelling and other activities. At seven years old, Muhammad is proudly transitioning to a first-grade class at a public school. His Clarke teachers note that he speaks English in complex sentences, reads at grade level and is learning Arabic!
With consistent efforts, he is also excelling in his memorization of the Quran in Arabic. Sohada, Muhammad’s mother, recently noted that four of her son’s seven years were spent with Clarke. She expressed her gratitude for all that Muhammad and her family learned, telling the Clarke team, “he’s grown up so much under your wings and for that we can’t be thankful enough for all that you’ve done and continue to do for him.
