Volunteer Opportunities
Become a Clarke Volunteer
Clarke’s preschool program runs Monday through Friday from 9AM – 1:30 PM. Clarke students love to meet new people, learn new things, and practice their speaking and social skills. Below are a few ideas on how you can volunteer
In the Classroom
Babysitting for Parent Meetings
Clarke holds several Parent Support Group meetings throughout the year. We need high school students willing to babysit on-site, in the evening, and help organize activities for students and siblings who accompany their parents to the meeting.
Community Service Projects
High school and college students can gain service hours by volunteering your time, both individually and as a group, to help prepare arts and crafts activities, sort toys and teaching materials, organize our library and art supplies, and help with student activities.
Be a Guest Reader
Share your favorite stories with one of the classes. Each classroom has a designated story time when guest readers are encouraged.
Share Musical Talents
If you sing, dance, or play an instrument our children would love to see you perform! Clarke preschoolers have music every Friday at 1PM.
Help with Parties
Clarke throws parties all year long and is always in need of volunteers to help with our Annual Homecoming, holiday parties, and other events throughout the year. Each classroom could use help if you’d like to donate supplies and organize festivities in the classroom.
Plan a Field Day
Bring your sports team, dance team, cheerleading team and teach our children about your favorite sport or activity.
Beyond the Classroom
Talk & Tours
Schedule a breakfast or lunch meeting at Clarke for a group from your school, local civic organization, sorority or fraternity, club, church or business. You will be able to tour our building, meet our children, and observe classroom lessons and speech therapy sessions. Learn about what is possible today for children with hearing loss.
Speakers Bureau
Arrange for one of Clarke’s experts to present at your next meeting. Clarke’s professional staff is available to present at your Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, Corporate, Civic, Church or Community group. It is a great way to learn more about Clarke Schools and their life-changing services.
Host a Friend-raising Event
Host a small gathering, including a few Clarke staff, in your home for a casual informational session. An informal setting in a private home provides a great opportunity to familiarize new friends with Clarke.
