October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month
The theme for National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) 2021 presented by the U.S Department of Labor is “America’s Recovery: Powered by Inclusion.” This reflects the importance of ensuring that people with disabilities have full access to employment and community involvement during the national recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Anat Maytal, a member of Clarke New York’s Leadership Council and attorney at Baker Hostetler, co-authored an article on the impact of COVID-19 on employees with disabilities in 2020. She will be a panelist for a webinar presented by the American Bar Association’s Commission on Disability Rights on October 18, 2021. Ms. Maytal has hearing loss and wears cochlear implants to help access sound.
Clarke is committed to providing an inclusive environment where children who are deaf or hard of hearing build the listening, learning and spoken language skills needed for a world of limitless possibilities.
