Summer Programs

Clarke's Summer Programs are especially designed for children with hearing loss. Activities are led by experienced teachers of the deaf and encourage leadership and independence, while enhancing listening, communication and social skills. Children enjoy field trips, recreation, arts and crafts, hiking, swimming, and more!

Summer Adventure

July 14 – 26, 2013
Ages 9-14
Located at the Williston Northampton School in Easthampton, Massachusetts
Program cost, including lodging and meals: $1,200 (day rate is $700).

Clarke’s Summer Adventure is a two-week summer program for children ages 9 - 14 who are deaf and hard of hearing. Held in Easthampton, Massachusetts, Summer Adventure offers participants the opportunity to interact with other children with hearing loss from all over the country, make new friends and have lots of fun! This program is designed for children with hearing loss who communicate using listening and spoken language. You can see a sample of daily activities here.

Explore the Outdoors

August 4 - 7, 2013
Teens entering grades 9-12
Located at DAR Campground in Goshen, Massachusetts
Program cost, including lodging and meals: $350.

During this four-day program, participants will explore nature through camping, hiking, swimming and zip-lining in beautiful Western Massachusetts. This program is designed for teenagers with hearing loss who communicate using listening and spoken language.
