Clarke PA Participates in Books To Know, Books To Grow Program

February 25, 2011—During February and March, children from Clarke's Pennsylvania campus will be participating in the Books To Know, Books To Grow program at the Please Touch Museum, a Philadelphia-area children's museum.

This literature based program helps preschoolers aged 3 to 5 build their literacy, math and art skills by reading. The program provides teachers with activities that strengthen their students’ basic skills and helps prepare students for kindergarten and lifelong learning. All of the activities in this program correlate with the School District of Philadelphia's pre-kindergarten curriculum.

Judy Sexton, Director of the Pennsylvania campus, described the program as, "an excellent opportunity for our preschoolers.  Through technologies like cochlear implants and hearing aids we are able to reach the brain and stimulate the critical auditory centers.  Auditory centers are the basis for reading! We are pleased to be able to offer this wonderful educational program to our families."
