Transcript provided below:

(Reporter) Hundreds of excited sports fans went to downtown Northampton to help raise money for one of their schools. A Perfect Match Auction to benefit the Clarke Schools for Hearing and Speech was held at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center. Hundreds of items were auctioned off. Red Sox announcer, Carl Beane, was there to show his support. The president of the school tells us this auction is one of the most popular charity events in the area.

(Clarke President, Bill Corwin) This auction is very important to Clarke, its’ not only a fundraiser, but also really an opportunity for the Northampton community, the greater community, and Springfield area to come out and support Clarke’s work. We help deaf and hard of hearing children develop the listening, learning, and spoken language skills they need to succeed.

(Reporter) Tonight’s event raised close to $60,000.  The money will be used to benefit the Clarke School’s scholarship program. CBS 3 Springfield was a proud sponsor of this event.
