Northampton Campus Plans Updated

October 28, 2010—President Bill Corwin recently announced updated information regarding the Northampton campus.

From the Daily Hampshire Gazette:

NORTHAMPTON - Rather than simply sell off its properties, the Clarke School for Hearing and Speech [1] will instead seek proposals from developers interested in acquiring and reusing a large portion of its campus.

Trustees over the weekend opted to develop requests for proposals, an avenue that lets school officials be more actively involved with the future use of properties on the approximately 8-acre campus off Round Hill Road, said William Corwin, the school's president.

"We don't know for certain which buildings we'll retain at this point," Corwin said. "Nobody knows how long the process will take."

The decision was lauded by city officials who say the move allows for a more cooperative and comprehensive plan for the school's move to unload properties. More (subscription required)
