Clarke Leader to Present at AG Bell Global Virtual Listening and Spoken Language Symposium

Clarke is proud to announce that Sherri Fickenscher, LSLS Cert. AVEd, teacher of the deaf at Clarke Philadelphia, will participate in a panel presentation at the AG Bell Global Virtual Listening and Spoken Language Symposium, July 9-11.

The panel discussion takes place on July 9 at 5:45 p.m. and will address adapting and optimizing learning for children who are deaf or hard of hearing and their families in virtual environments.

Since 2013, Clarke has conducted more than 3,450 teleservice and tele-education sessions for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Sherri will elaborate on how Clarke expanded teleservices during the COVID-19 pandemic by leveraging the best practices and expertise we’ve acquired to continue providing students with the tools they need to sustain their listening and spoken language success through this historic event.

“We’ve been able to leverage our teleservice experience at all levels of service delivery during the pandemic,” explained Sherri. “I am eager to share some of what we have learned with colleagues.”

The Listening and Spoken Language Symposium is a leading opportunity to learn and connect with a community of listening and spoken language professionals who serve children who are deaf and hard of hearing. New this year, symposium registrants will have on-demand access to recorded content for three weeks after the live event. Find session descriptions and the full schedule here.
