Memoir by Clarke Parent Featured in Good Housekeeping
August 9, 2010—The July issue of Good Housekeeping magazine features an excerpt from the uplifting memoir If a Tree Falls, by Clarke parent Jennifer Rosner. When Rosner’s two daughter were born deaf, she set out on an odyssey of personal discovery, tracing a family history of deafness to ancestors in Eastern Europe. Catherine Newman, author of Waiting for Birdy, said, “this beautiful book is about listening — really listening — to children, history, and one’s own, knowing heart. It’s an exquisite memoir, crossed with poetry and the unmistakable shine of truth.”
