Clarke Hosts EHDI Stakeholder Convening

November 5, 2018—Clarke Northampton was the site of the Massachusetts State Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) Stakeholder Meeting on October 29.

Stakeholders had an opportunity to collaborate at the Massachusetts State Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) Stakeholder’s Meeting hosted by Clarke Northampton on October 29, 2018. Sarah Stone, program and communications coordinator at the Universal Newborn Hearing Screening Program, led the meeting and shared Massachusetts state priorities which include funding and developing a shared service plan.

Marian Hartblay, director of early childhood services at Clarke Northampton, guided a tour of Clarke’s Integrated Preschool Program. Attendees observed the unique play-based and language-instructive program that enrolls both children with typical hearing and children who are deaf or hard of hearing.

“The meeting also presented an opportunity to introduce attendees to Clarke's tVISIT program,” explained Hartblay. “During a tVISIT, an early intervention professional uses video conference technology to provide virtual coaching and consultation sessions with families of children who are deaf or hard of hearing.”

Both Clarke and the Universal Newborn Hearing Screening Program in Massachusetts are committed to ensuring families of children with hearing loss receive the services they need. Learn more here.
