39th Annual Conference on Mainstreaming Students with Hearing Loss: Call for Proposals Now Open

January 12, 2018—Clarke Mainstream Services is requesting proposals for the 39th Annual Conference on Mainstreaming Students with Hearing Loss. This year’s conference will once again include a full line-up of educational workshops and inspiring keynote speakers and will be held on Thursday, October 18 and Friday, October 19, 2018 at the Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel & Trade Center in Marlborough, MA.

This annual two-day event brings together speech and language pathologists, teachers of the deaf, early intervention providers, other school professionals, audiologists and parents – all helping children who are deaf or hard of hearing learn to listen and talk. Workshops will relate to the 2018 theme, “From Access to Achievement: Empowering Every Child to Succeed in the Mainstream,” and will focus on the many facets of hearing loss and its academic and social implications for learning in mainstream classrooms.

The Mainstream Conference Planning Committee welcomes parents and professionals to submit a proposal to share their ideas and expertise at Clarke’s 2018 conference. Proposals are for mini-workshops, which are 90 minutes in length and offered in the morning (10:30 am -12:00 pm) and repeated in the afternoon (1:15 pm - 2:45 pm). Priority will be given to workshops that are “hands-on” and offer information that participants can easily apply to their work.

Four time slots are also available for vendors to present information in a scholarly manner along with product demos through a Learning Lab Product Demo Presentation option. Vendors can submit their proposals online as well.

The submission deadline is Monday, February 26, 2018. Questions about the 2018 Fall Conference can be directed to or 413.587.7313.
