Call for Proposals Now Open 36th Annual Conference on Mainstreaming Students with Hearing Loss

January 22, 2015—Clarke Schools for Hearing and Speech is requesting proposals for the 36th Conference to be held October 22 and 23, 2015 at the Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel in Marlborough, MA. This annual two-day event brings together speech and language pathologists, teachers of the deaf, early intervention providers, parents, audiologists and other professionals—all working with children who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Proposals are for mini-workshops, which are 90 minutes in length and offered in the morning (10:30am-12pm) and repeated in the afternoon (1:15-2:45pm). Priority will be given to workshops that are “hands-on” and offer information that participants can easily apply to their work. Proposals must be submitted no later than March 9, 2015.

This year’s conference theme is “The Sounds of Success: Believe It and Achieve It!” Suggested topics include: Techniques/strategies to bolster reading comprehension; Audition strategies, goals and objectives; Techniques to bridge learning gaps; Social pragmatics – challenges for students with hearing loss; Updates on FM technology; and Fostering resiliency in students with hearing loss to name a few, but all topics will be considered.

OPPORTUNITY FOR VENDORS OFFERED AGAIN THIS YEAR!

Only 4 time slots are available for vendors to present information in a scholarly manner along with product demos through a Product Demo Learning Labs Presentation option.
