Clarke New York Alums Volunteer Their Time

June 17, 2014—Last fall, two alumni interns joined the Clarke New York community. Fiona Galvis is a 13-year old student at The Brearley School, just around the corner from Clarke New York. A hearing aid user, Fiona attended Clarke New York’s Early Intervention Program. Nicholas “Nick” Clark is a 14-year old student at The Dalton School. Although Nick did not get services at Clarke, he is a bilateral C.I. user who lives with his family just down the block.

Fiona and Nick have volunteered an hour a week after school just about every week since the beginning of September. These generous teens have helped to keep Clarke New York's library organized, set up for parent workshops and events, clean toys, update our lobby bulletin boards, and assemble 100 “Clarke Care Kits” (hearing aid equipment kits meant for preschool families who missed receiving these items through Early Intervention).

Thank you to Fiona and Nick for your help, dedication and your wonderful spirit of community!
