December 17, 2014—Four mainstream teachers of the deaf from Clarke Mainstream Services in Northampton, MA traveled to NYC last week to attend a day-long workshop offered by The Children's Hearing Institute's Educational Outreach Program. The workshop, "Facilitative Strategies and Techniques: Moving Beyond the Single Word," offered hands-on training to facilitating simple to complex language forms through video demonstrations and cooperative learning experiences. It was held at the Ear Institute/New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai. [More]

November 14, 2014—Jennifer Rosner will be reading and signing copies her new children's book The Mitten String, an original folktale about a girl who knits, a woman who is deaf, and a piece of blue yarn. Join us at Barnes & Noble, Upper East Side, 150 E 86th Street on Saturday, November 22 at 10am. Barnes & Noble, will have an ASL interpreter for the event.[More]

November 10, 2014—On October 28, Clarke New York was the beneficiary of a City Year New York “Day of Service” at Microsoft’s Times Square offices. Forty Microsoft employees teamed up to help create multi-lingual reading kits for the our students and their parents.[More]

November 7, 2014—On October 10, more than 125 professionals came together for a day of learning and collaboration to enhance individual skills and thereby improve the field of practice overall. Guest speaker, David Sindrey, provided a delightful day brimming with practical materials and strategies for professionals.[More]
