August 6, 2012—(from 22News WWLP) A bill that could change access to hearing aids is awaiting Governor Deval Patrick's signature.

During an informal session yesterday, Beacon Hill lawmakers rallied behind a bill that would require insurance companies to pay for hearing aids for all children and young adults under 21.

On Wednesday May 9, 2012, The Clarke Hearing Center on Round Hill Road will host an information session and demonstration on the benefits of Hearing Loops.

April 20, 2012—Dana Stallings, a Jacksonville, FL resident, is organizing a 5k run next Spring. At every mile marker, each participant will be handed a cup of handmade ice cream.

No, this isn’t a new diet trend, it’s a fundraiser! Dana owns a Kilwins Chocolate and Ice Cream Shoppe, and is planning the Kilwins Ice Cream Run to raise money for the Clarke.

March 7, 2012—Barbara F. Hecht, Ph.D., Director of Clarke’s Boston area campus and Mary Jane Johnson, M.Ed. LSLS Cert. AVEd, Assistant Director, presented a poster titled “Transforming School into a Natural Environment for Infants and Toddlers” at the Early Hearing Detection & Intervention (EHDI) Annual Meeting held March 5-6 in Saint Louis, MO.

The poster detailed Clarke Boston’s innovative hybrid home-visit and center-based EI program in which center-based services are provided in a homelike setting, with a focus on everyday family activities.  The poster also provided guidance to staff in transforming therapy EI models into natural activity-based services.
