October 18, 2012—It's a family affair for Team Clarke at this year's ING New York City Marathon to be held on November 4, 2012. Two sets of parents and children will be crossing the finish line for hearing loss awareness: O.J. Logue, of Northampton, MA is set to run with daughter Amanda Logue of New York City, and Dana Stallings will join daughter Haley Stallings, both of Jacksonville, Florida. Rounding out Team Clarke is Nelson Daniels of the Cayman Islands (running in support of his nephew Cooper, who was born with a hearing loss), and Clarke supporter Donald "Keith" Andress of Birmingham, Alabama. All members of Team Clarke are running the 26-mile marathon to raise funds in support of Clarke’s programs serving children and adults with hearing loss.

September 24, 2012—Join the Clarke community for an old-fashioned autumn community fair featuring a concert by popular children’s singer/songwriter Mister G., a farmers market featuring local produce and products, a pumpkin roll contest, scarecrow building, and activities and games for the whole family. The event is free and open to the public and will take place outdoors on the grounds of Clarke’s Northampton campus.[More]

Designed for parents and professionals, this one-of-a-kind conference brings experts in the fields of education, hearing loss, and child development together for two days of presentations, workshops, and discussions.

August 14, 2012—(from the Westfield News) Gov. Deval Patrick signed a bill into law yesterday that will give some financial relief to children in need of hearing aids.

The new law mandates that insurance carriers cover up to $2,000 of the cost of any single hearing aid for minors up to age 21. The Massachusetts Hearing Aids for Children Coalition says parents often pay out of pocket for hearing aids prescribed by doctors, which are replaced at least every three to five years.

According to the Coalition, 150 children born in Massachusetts each year are diagnosed with hearing loss.

August 6, 2012—(from 22News WWLP) A bill that could change access to hearing aids is awaiting Governor Deval Patrick's signature.

During an informal session yesterday, Beacon Hill lawmakers rallied behind a bill that would require insurance companies to pay for hearing aids for all children and young adults under 21.
